Meet-ups & Academy

Here you will find information about the Swedish Association for Youth Councils various national meet-ups, trainings and conferences.

IRL (In Real Life) is The Swedish Association of Youth Council's biggest annual event and we invite all members to participate. Somewhere between 200-400 people usually attend the event and the weekend is always bursting with inspiration, discussions and the opportunity to meet new friends.

IRL is organized in the fall of each year, usually during the Halloween weekend, and is held at different locations in the country every year.

Inspirational Weekends is what we call our three day long lecture events that we arrange three times a year, two in the spring and one in the autumn and just like IRL, the events move around to different places in the country each time. Every weekend has its own theme that can range from more practical knowledge to a political topic.

Leadership Academy is SAYC’s leadership training for young people aged 13-26. The Leadership Academy gives young people the opportunity to develop themselves and their leadership, exploring leadership in both the nonprofit as well as the private sector. We provide participants with qualifications to work with groups in a leading role and our Leadership Academy gives young people a lot of the experience that is required when looking for a job.

The Leadership Academy is conducted each autumn from September to December and 15 young people participate each year. The purpose for the Leadership Academy is to educate young people in different types of leadership, project management and process management in order to provide tools for the participants to develop their personal leadership skills.

The Leadership Academy is aimed primarily at young people who already have a commitment or a leading role in the nonprofit sector, but it is open to everyone between the ages of 13 and 26. The selection of participants is made y the Leadership Academy's Steering Committee based on individual applications. As with all other activities within the Swedish Association of Youth Councils the Leadership Academy looks to be available and inclusive of all young.
